| a ''must stop'' in Calabash | | By a Guest Reviewer | | Don't be a ''plain Jane'' and get vanilla or chocolate. How about German Chocolate, or Birthday Cake or what about Plantation Praline. Those are only a few of the many great (and unusual) flavors at the Calabash Creamery. After you get your $2 single scoop of ice cream in a sugar cone, walk outside and grab a rocking chair. But be warned, in the Summertime, this place gets really crowded in the evenings. | |
| Avoid soft-serve ice cream | | By a Guest Reviewer | | This review is about Calabash Creamery's soft-serve only, which is all we order so we have no comment about their ''hard'' ice cream. In fairness, we have heard nothing but raves for their varied and delicious flavors of ''hard'' ice cream. Anyway, the Creamery had delicious, creamy soft-serve until a few months ago. We don't know what happened, but it turned to icy and grainy. We tried it three times before writing this review. In fact, it was so bad that it made us think of going to (Heaven forbid!) Dairy Queen instead. We hope they restore the delicious soft-serve as soon as possible since we live only a short distance away. | |
