Good value, and the money is used for the upkeep. The museum is interesting, and they have some great souvenirs to buy. The people working there seem to have a lot of knowledge about the lighthouse and the surrounding area. We climbed to the top of the lighthouse (all 108 steps) huffing and puffing, and fell in love with the island immediately. It was hot, stuffy, claustrophobic, and not for those afraid of heights, but worth it all just for the views. This was a great side trip, and we were able to rest afterward under the branches of a 200 year old oak tree sitting at a picnic table. Very nice, peaceful place to visit. | |
